Take a pan, when medium hot add butter and cashew nuts. When cashews turn golden brown, take it out and set aside for later use.
In the same pan with butter still in, add cumin seeds, green chili, coriander, mint (optional) and stir fry them for about 5 to 7 min.
In the same pan 6 cups of water on the same cup as measured for rice and bring it to boil. Now add the presoaked basmati rice strained with 1 tsp salt and boil it till almost all water is absorbed by the rice.
Now add fried onions, saffron color and cook the rest covered with a lid on a bare minimum flame for about 5 minutes with stirring in between.
